Dr. Sunnie Kim is a gastrointestinal medical oncologist and assistant professor at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center with Medstar Georgetown University Hospital. She is currently the scientific lead for the study of stomach and esophageal cancers.
She received her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her residency training in internal medicine at New York University Medical Center and her medical oncology fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell Campus.
Dr. Kim is interested in advancing novel therapies in the treatment of gastroesophageal cancers and collaborates with the National Cancer Institute on novel immunotherapy combinations. She is the PI on multiple stomach and esophageal clinical trials.
