Job Title: Senior Director of Marketing Operations: Annual Giving

What led you to Georgetown University Advancement?

After years of Direct Response fundraising for various non-profits across many different missions and political affiliations, a former manager sent me a job posting for Georgetown University. I had never considered working in Higher-Ed but after reading the position description I decided to apply. Everything about the application and interview process was hands down one of the best experiences of my professional career. Not only did the position align with my interests and skills but I instantly knew it was a good team environment.

What’s been your biggest achievement at Georgetown so far in your career?

My experience has been defined by two key areas of growth.

From a metrics standpoint, we have seen fundraising numbers on certain appeals double or even triple in both gifts and dollars raised, following the introduction of new strategies and creative approaches.

From a professional development perspective, I have become a more effective manager and team member. Working with incredible colleagues at Georgetown has taught me to meet people where they are, listen more than I speak, and remain open to learning. This has fostered an honest environment that yields successful collaboration and continues to help me grow as both a person and a supportive colleague.

How did you end up in your current role? Did you have previous experience?

I transitioned into the role of Senior Director of Marketing Operations in January 2025. This move has allowed me to work more closely with our team on fundraising and engagement campaigns, while also providing opportunities to build and cultivate collaborations with partners in Advancement and across the university.

While I have extensive experience working with diverse teams and clients, this position enables me to take a more active role in strategic decision-making across our various fundraising and marketing channels.

What’s one fun fact about yourself that most people don’t know?

I’ve always been a huge fan of stand-up comedy and secretly want to try it myself. I truly admire the honesty and vulnerability required for the craft, and I enjoy seeing people happy and laughing.

How does your work align with the broader mission at Georgetown & Advancement?

The Annual Giving team utilizes deliberate, data-driven strategies to support our Advancement goals, specifically focusing on direct response marketing to increase annual support for Georgetown.

In my role, I help plan and execute strategic fundraising and stewardship campaigns. I ensure that all priorities and communications are managed effectively to maximize both the number of gifts and the total dollars raised for the university.
