Development

Georgetown’s Development teams are responsible for raising significant philanthropic support to drive the University’s strategic priorities. Through a relationship-based and donor-centric lens, fundraisers at Georgetown are expected to meet annual goals—dollars raised, visits conducted, and asks made— all in pursuit of advancing philanthropic support of Georgetown.

Our development officers are skilled in cultivating meaningful relationships with donors across this wide range, ensuring each contribution is aligned with the donor’s philanthropic goals and the university’s strategic priorities.

  • Law Center Development

The Law Center and Alumni Affairs Department work directly with the Dean of the Law Center to engage alumni, families, friends, corporate partners, and the greater Law Center community. • Medical Center Development

The Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) Development team focuses on the advancement and support of such core Medical Center functions such as undergraduate and graduate medical education, biomedical research, and cancer research in partnership with alumni, families, and friends of Georgetown. • Regional Development

Regional Development teams manage broad-based portfolios of current and prospective donors, engaging them to support a wide range of university initiatives. These fundraisers lead strategy for their respective markets and focus on engaging and soliciting families within their assigned regions— both domestic and international. They work closely with university leadership and academic or faculty leads across Georgetown’s campus to advance philanthropic priorities.

  • Unit Development

Unit Development officers typically work with current and prospective donors affiliated with a specific school or academic unit at Georgetown. These fundraisers are subject matter experts in the areas they represent and play a key role in advancing school-specific priorities. Naturally, they partner most closely with their specific school or unit leadership—deans, faculty leads, chaplains, and coaches.
